Chesterfield Bikeable Walkable Plan
The City of Chesterfield is updating its Bikeable Walkable Plan to help ensure walking, biking, and rolling (scooter, skates, or wheelchair) are safe and convenient forms of transportation and recreation for people of all ages and abilities. At the core of this Plan is a commitment to improving the health, mobility, and overall quality of life for Chesterfield residents, workers, and visitors. By creating more opportunities to safely and conveniently walk, bike, and roll, the City aims to foster a more active and accessible community for all ages and abilities.

Key Benefits of a Bikeable Walkable Community
- Health & Wellness: Offering residents greater access to safe walking and bicycling routes encourages physical activity which in turn has many benefits for physical and mental health.
- Environmental Impact: Expanding non-motorized transportation options reduces automobile traffic, lowering emissions and contributing to a cleaner environment.
- Economic Growth: Improved access to local businesses, parks, and community centers through bike and pedestrian-friendly routes can drive economic activity and boost property values.
- Community Building: Pedestrian and bicycling infrastructure encourages residents to engage with their surroundings and each other, fostering a strong sense of community.
